January 2026 Support Group News
An elder care attorney, and our Foundation board member, Rick Biehl recently spoke at the Shelton Good Grief reminding the widows to update their will and legal documents. He is our “go-to” attorney and often refers clients to Good Grief.
And one of our widows of the past is a Medicare specialist and made her annual visit to all three Good Grief locations to assist the ladies with decisions during Medicare open enrollment.
Sadly, one of our Belfair Good Grief participants passed from a sudden fatal heart attack. Her family was so grateful for the love and support she received and gave Good Grief that they requested a celebration of life for one of our weekly meetings. It was an event of love.
And on a happy note, many of the widows gathered over the holidays to celebrate with their new friends. Good Grief opens many doors.
The Belfair group is concentrating on the book “From One Widow to Another” by Miriam Neef the first quarter of this year. This is the “bible” for Good Grief as it is a positive approach to finding the “new you”.
Our Facebook page currently has nearly four thousand members. It is a private page, requiring request for membership. Two of our widows keeps close tabs on this page allowing it to stay “clean”. Members are from all over the world and find great benefits to sharing with each other.
