This is the third year we have our fingers crossed to hear the results of our grant application to Kitsap Community Foundation. The grant will be awarded this month. We are hopeful.

We finished 2025 with a grand and amazing total of $8200 in assistance to the widows that included the purchase of firewood, helping with property taxes, roof repair, auto maintenance, and moving expenses. This includes the gift of turkeys to all the ladies and a few community officers. We have had the opportunity to help three widows so far this month of January.

Because of a generous donation and the cooperation of an excellent local therapist, the Foundation is thrilled to offer the gift of one hour counseling to all the Good Grief widows. This gift is like no other is helping to heal and live with our grief rather than in our grief.

We have goals to grow again this year allowing us to reach out to more widows in more areas. We are seeking future facilitators to train. Please contact Suzy, 360-789-9997, if you are interested or know someone that may be.

Recently we were invited to give a presentation at the Skookum Rotary in Shelton. It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce Good Grief and how we help widows in every way.
